Skulpta: A review
Star Rating: ★★★★★
Skulpta may well change the way you buy canvases online. In the interest of full disclosure, I should tell you that, as part of this collaboration, Skulpta sent me 3 products from their website. Now, as clichéd as it is, I have a rule that I won’t promote anything I wouldn’t buy myself. The good news is this has been a slam-dunk, as it’s very likely I’ll now be a future customer of Skulpta too. They also very kindly gave me a discount code that anyone can use – HENLEY15 at checkout will get you 15% off your order.
Range
The first thing that impressed me about Skulpta was their range of products. It’s not huge. You don’t get lost in it. You can thoughtfully consider what works best for you without being bombarded by products from all angles. The pieces they sell are bright, provocative and modern – prints of work from Banksy and the like. Thankfully they don’t try to play to every crowd; so, if you like this style (and I do), then the chances are you will like an awful lot of what they stock. The difficulty is, despite the manageable range, you still end up stuck with a choice as you end up wanting the whole lot.
Quality
The quality of their products is also top drawer. With them being prints, there is always a danger some of the detailing or vibrancy is lost but this is absolutely not the case with Skulpta. The colours pop, the details are vivid and the pieces stand out in exactly the way you had hoped they would when you saw them on the website. This quality also carries through regardless of the size that you order – I ended up ordering larger pieces to have statement pieces on walls in my home, and was delighted with the quality of the printing.
Furthermore, with them being canvases, they are surprisingly light too. This makes hanging them extremely easy.
Delivery
When dealing with a business that operates online, the one thing you pray for is that they have delivery nailed. It’s one of the reasons businesses like Amazon do so well – they just get delivery right. Skulpta do too. They use FedEx and you can track your order from the moment it is received (they send you an email with a TRACKING button you can’t miss). FedEx then text you when the shipment is due to arrive. It took a week for the pieces to arrive (they advise it will take 5-10 working days); however, as with all these things, the key for me is communication. I never once felt lost, I knew I could track my shipment at any time and I received emails to say my order was being processed, shipped and then FedEx texted me too. The icing on the cake is that delivery is free too.
Going the extra mile
Since 2019, Skulpta have donated a portion of the profits to a non-profit organisation combatting deforestation. This means that they end up planting a tree for every canvas that they sell. These little things matter and is yet another reason why you’ll very likely find me buying prints of this style from Skulpta in the future.
